Anyone hear back from VPL?  Get the job and you owe me dinner =)

I know I promised more of an update since it's been...4 months?  But I really don't gots much to talk about.  Xmas, new year's, chinese new year's, today.  That sum it up?  Actually I been trying to get another job and work like crazy to save up for Japan.  Second job isn't necessary, but for insurance.  So, Kenny, get those kneepads crackin'.
But really, I just came by to post my Oscar nods for the 78th Academy Awards on MARCH 5th, in case any of you missed that.  These are only for the major ones really, or at least the ones I have some interest/knowledge in haha.  Have a pool at work right now at $220 and going.  Soooo...without further ado, here's what I'd like to win and what probably will win.

Best Performance (Actor):
My choice:  Joaquin Phoenix in "Walk the Line"
Oscar:  Philip Seymour Hoffman in "Capote"

Best Performance in Supporting Role (Actor):
My choice:  Jake Gyllenhaal in "Brokeback Mountain"
Oscar:  Paul Giamatti in "Cinderella Man"

Best Performance (Actress):
My choice: Reese Witherspoon in "Walk the Line"
Oscar:  Toughy...Felicity Huffman or Reese...I think it'd go to Reese

Best Performance in Supporting Role (Actress):
My choice:  Amy Adams in "Junebug"
Oscar:  Amy's a contender but I'd still have to go with Rachel Weisz in "The Constant Gardneder"

Best Animated Feature:
My choice:  Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Oscar:  Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Best Original Score:
My choice:  Gustavo Santaolalla for "Brokeback Mountain"
Oscar:  John Williams for "Memoirs of a Geisha"

Best Adapted Screenplay:
My choice:  A History of Violence
Oscar:  Brokeback Mountain

Best Original Screenplay:
My choice:  Crash
Oscar:  Crash

Best Motion Picture of the Year:
My choice:  Brokeback Mountain
Oscar:  Brokeback Mountain

Achievement in Directing:
My choice:  Ang Lee for "Brokeback Mountain"
Oscar:  Ang Lee for "Brokeback Mountain"

oooooh boy, after Brokeback cleans up can you just see the hundreds of gay porn titles that'll come with it???  Man o man...anyhoo, I probably won't be back for a long ass time cuz I'm gonna be hella busy with or without that second job and, seriously, how often do I do this?  Anyway, check out the Oscars if you got time, latez!

Louis Armstrong - La Vie En Rose
~Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom
And when you speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem, to turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose...~

I like the Edith Piaf version a lot better but it just didn't really seem that great looking like I'm typing about me loving a guy o_O

"C'est lui pour moi, moi pour lui, dans la vie"

*radioblog is a mess, just grabbed some random stuff; old, new, 80s, rap, techno, no time to make a list =P

Okay, so this is for the library but it isn't directly related to it so if you wanna refer me, uh sure...but I don't think that's gonna help at all.  Same with telling them that you're interested in the library and whatever cuz that's just stupid.  If you're lucky enough to get to the interview, don't rip my "greatest weakness" line!  Good luck!

Everything happened so fast.  That was the quickest 4 months I've ever had.  May and June just disappeared without a second glance and July...well I was gone for most of it so I guess I can't really say I didn't do anything.  But August, August was great, only it was too short a time.  Why didn't we start anything earlier?  Why is it that only when there is little time left do people "make the best of it"?  Shouldn't we be making the best of all the time we're given?  I say that but it's not like I do either, only wish I had.  *sigh*, life seems to be passing me by and I don't mean it in the sense that I'm not going out clubbing every weekend or going on vacations.  It just seems like I'm getting older and don't see in the near future, me accomplishing anything.  I don't want my life to begin at 30, I want it ASAP, but that requires me finishing school first, a feat not likely for at least a few more years.  But enough of school right?  I mean starting tomorrow that's all that's gonna be on everyone's mind for the next 3 months.  Then a break.  Then another 3 months.

So much yet so little has happened these past few months and you know me, I don't like to explain too much so basically I worked, went to China, a lot of bbtea (found Kat's), caught up on a lot of movies (horrors finding a place with me), worked more than I thought, got around to doing some errands, met long gone sister for a few days before she went long gone again, went to the airport like a million times, and AE!!! Heh, such a nerd.
This might not have been the best summer I'll have had, in fact I highly doubt it, but it's sure felt like it these past few days.  I wouldn't trade these moments for anything.  To quote a movie that I should have shared with you all a long time ago, "Get busy living, or get busy dying."  I think I'll choose the former.

And that movie which is my movie pick of the week is...
The Shawshank Redemption starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as a couple of inmates who, through Robbins' character, changes the lives of everyone in that jail, including his own when he is sentenced for life.  Movie that can't be described too much, but must be seen to understand what a great movie it is and why it's #2 on IMDB's top 250 list.

I had a hard time picking out a song for the end of my entry since it was the one to basically sum up summer '05 and the beginning of school (post-secondary in general for some) for most everyone else.  I might have used this before but I just love this song so much that I'm gonna have to use it again.  And for all those who aren't in the greatest of moods or are having problems of their own, I hope some of this song can help you get you back on your feet.  I'm not very good with my own words but know that "eventually you'll finally get it right".

The Ataris - In This Diary
~Here in this diary
I write you visions of my summer
It was the best I ever had
There were chorsues and and sing-alongs
And not a spoken feeling
I'm knowing that right now is all the matters
All the nights we stayed up talking
And listening to 80's songs
Quoting lines from all those movies
It still brings a smile to my face
I guess when it comes down to it

Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up
These are the best days of our lives
The only thing that matters
Is just following your heart
And eventually you'll finally get it right

Breaking into hotel swimming pools
And wreaking havoc on our world
Hanging out at truck stops just to pass the time
The black top's singing me to sleep
Lighting fireworks in parking lots
Illuminate the blackest nights
Cherry cokes under this moonlit summer sky
2015 Riverside, it's time to say goodbye
Get on the bus, it's time to go

Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up
These are the best days of our lives
The only thing that matters
Is just following your heart
And eventually you'll finally get it right...~

Finally got that Radioblog working...stupid xanga...
Too hot to continue...will write later...

Edit:
Man I hate Shaw sooo much...cut me off all last night and RIGHT when I clicked 'Save Changes' to fix this radioblog thing.  TV was "under maintainence" too so I had to sleep early -_-  Hm...so Blink is done for, they had a good run =)  Green Day AGAIN in the fall, how sweet is that???  This time at GM with J.E.W!  Oh and I FINALLY found a good version of that Gorillaz and DJ DB song.
So I found out my DVD burner only takes high quality DVD-Rs after wasting 4 of em.  Anyone wanna buy 46 Memorex 8x DVD-Rs?  Oh mang...running out of room on my HDs and need a new battery, any help appreciated =)
Oh yeah, 7:40 for Star Wars?  Totally worth it!  Yeah okay you know what's gonna happen, the script is never good and only half the acting is decent but who cares???  When is such a monumentous event like this ever going to happen again?  The saga is over, finito, done!  LOTR wasn't half bad, Matrix was for the most part decent but this takes the whole friggin wedding cake!  Kinda makes me wish I was at Granville or Bridgeport instead.  Well now that that's done, there really isn't anything left for me (worth lining up for).
Hm...camping in a few weeks, I'm an "outdoorsy" kind of guy?  Haha alright just follow my lead...*foom* the sound of tents catching fire...

Oh mang...I was supposed to save up this summer but I'm doing a pretty shitty job of it.  I wanted to work more too, maybe even 2 jobs but I'm so tired/lazy that I'm barely working more at my one!  Oh yeah, they hire at end of July/August so please don't ask me when they hire.

Hey is anyone watching anything else besides Naruto?  Like say...Bleach?  The new endings are so cool!  One for each team and the song's awesome too.  Hey good endings for Amazing Race and Survivor eh?  Yeah I didn't watch all of Survivor but Tom deserved it.  And Jesus (Bo) lost Idol???  No way!  Rigged...

Friggin hot this...SPRING!?!  It's still spring and it's 30 degrees out??  Gonna be one hell of a summer...
And me being the genius that I am goes out to play tennis at 6:30 when I figure it's gonna be cooler at that time...me and my sis were so dizzy...no wonder the courts were empty =/

Alrighty, got my stupid radioblog working, time to sign off with my movie pick of the week...

*dun dun, dun da da, dun dun* Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith starring Hayden Christiansen, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson, Ian McDiarmid and a bunch of people like Jimmy Smits in smaller roles.  Notice George in blue standing outside the door of the opera talking to another alien?  Or his son takin on some stormtroopers and his daughter beside the new queen of Naboo?  Okay okay, enough geek talk.  But seriously, even if you're not a fan of Star Wars, it's a fun film that everybody should watch at least once.  Like I said, you don't go to see Star Wars for its witty banter or award winning performances, you go to see a milestone in the making =)

Coldplay - Yellow
~Look at the stars, look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah they were all yellow

I came along, I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow

Your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
Do you know?
You know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across, I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
Cos you were all yellow

I drew a line, I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

And your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
Do you know?
For you I bleed myself dry
For you I bleed myself dry

Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do...~

Holy jumpin' Moses Batman!  Is this updizzle for rizzle???  Yeah not really...just doin this for AdSense.  Christmas?!?!  Where I been??  Lesse...school, couple weeks left. Work, moved up to LAII baby! haha so sad...4 months off, the hell am I gonna do besides work??  New York?  We'll see...

Weather's been crappy lately, meaning I've been pretty crappy too.  It's nearly over but I can't concentrate on school, people's attitudes been bugging the hell out of me so much that I just zone them out, getting fat and lazy staring at this box and can't keep an interest on anything.  I need a haircut.

In the past year or so...we've had (in no particular order) a Vancouver snowstorm, beatings on the elderly, school kidnappings, sunshine for weeks on end, many (for me) eyewitness car accidents, an invincible bird that disappeared, a major tsunami, extreme earthquakes, and a pope passing.  You know when something as big as the pope dying, the rest of the world seems insignificant doesn't it?  Our PM could die and no one would notice til after the pope's wake.  Speaking of which, Frank Purdue of the famous Purdue poultry passed away as well, but nobody knew that did they?

Anyway, guess my movie for the uh...next little while is...

Sin City, starring a whole shitload of people including Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Josh Hartnett, Elijah Wood, Jaime King, Alexis Bledel, Rosario Dawson, Benicio del Toro, Mickey Rourke, Nick Stahl, Marley Shelton, Frank Miller and...that's all I can remember for now.  But it's a wicked good movie!  Yeah people say it's gory but it's so not real so don't worry about it.  Cheezy lines maybe, but the sheer coolness of it makes up for it.  You can totally tell the Tarantino influence.  Trust me, if it looked good to you in the first place, you'll enjoy it.  And if it didn't, well I'm sure it'll be worth your money.  If not, I'll give you a refund (refund expires 04/05/2005).  So now that I've seen that, what else is there?  Not too many except Star Wars III, I'll be there early...very early, Batman Begins, maybe Fever Pitch just for Jimmy, Year of the Yao cuz Yao's the man, Downfall, War of the Worlds cuz...c'mon!, The Brothers Grimm and maybe Doom just for it being a classic =)

And that's all I have to say about that.

The Cure - Pictures of You
~I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are
All I can feel

Remembering you standing quiet in the rain
As I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell in
Holding you close
How I always held close in your fear
Remembering you running soft through the night
You were bigger and brighter and whiter than snow
And screamed at the make believe
Screamed at the sky
And you finally found all your courage
To let it all go

Remembering you fallen into my arms
Crying for the death of your heart
You were stone white
So delicate
Lost in the cold
You were always so lost in the dark
Remembering you how you used to be
Slow drowned
You were angels
So much more than everything
Hold for the last time then slip away quietly
Open my eyes
But I never see anything

If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart
All my pictures of you

Looking so long at these pictures of you
But I never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
But always just breaking apart
My pictures of you

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
That to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you...~
